The function of tank car ball valve

The tank car ball valve is installed at the bottom of the tank, the valve flap is sealed in the tank, and the valve body is provided with a cutting groove. After it is subjected to violent external force, the valve body will be disconnected along the cutting groove, and the pipeline under the car and the tank are separated without affecting the seal of the tank, so as to effectively prevent the oil leakage in the tank and ensure the safety of transportation. Suitable for loading water, diesel, gasoline and other light oil products.

Functions and Features

How it works

Tank car ball valve adopts single acting cylinder structure, compressed air drive piston rod pull out. Top open the spring of the plunger, open it, the medium passes through, the work is finished, the air source is closed, the plunger relies on the spring, the reset seal, and the valve is closed. In order to ensure that the valve has a good working ability, the following conditions must be met:
  • When the tank car ball valve is working, the system air source must ensure a pressure of >0.4MPA.
  • The valve body and the middle plunger must be highly sealed.
  • The spring must maintain sufficient elasticity to reset.

Installation requirements

  • When the tank car ball valve is installed on the tank car, it should be balanced with the tank body. The sealing gasket connecting the inlet flange with the tank body is a cork gasket provided by our factory. Be careful not to damage it.
  • The pneumatic joint should be protected when installing the air supply hose.

Structural features

  • Non-metal sealing structure
    due to the emergency cut off valve in the accident state emergency cut off, in order to ensure that the valve seal is good, thoroughly isolate the medium, the valve disc is inset with PCTFE non-metal sealing ring, through the pressure plate and ISO 7042 type all-metal self-locking nut fastening. The surface of the valve disc in contact with the PCTFE non-metal seal ring has concentric grooves to realize the maze function and ensure the sealing of the part.
  • The outer circle of the manual function
    valve disc and the middle cavity of the valve body are machined, and the base hole system H11/d11 is used to facilitate the valve disc guidance, to ensure that the valve disc will not tilt or tilt when moving, so as to avoid leakage caused by uneven wear of the valve seat.
  • Stem guide manual function
    emergency cut off the valve stem lengthening, in order to keep the packing away from low temperature cold media, to ensure that the packing is above 0ºC, to ensure that the packing seal is reliable. The lengthened valve stem belongs to an elongated shaft, so the lower end of the valve stem needs radial support. The guide sleeve made of HPb59-1 material is pressed into the valve cover and the valve cover interference. After the guide sleeve is pressed into the guide sleeve and the valve cover joint line near the valve cover, punch the eye to facilitate the guide sleeve limit and prevent the guide sleeve from moving axially. Guide sleeve can play a guiding role on the valve stem, but also can play a supporting role on the valve stem, to avoid in extreme conditions, causing the valve stem bending. In addition, the guide sleeve also prevents side thrust on the valve stem.
  • Middle flange connection bolt anti-release function
    because the CQA tank truck ball valve in the transportation process of vibration is inevitable, and in the loading and unloading process of the valve to withstand alternating temperature changes, resulting in the relaxation of the bolt, and then affect the sealing of the middle flange gasket. In order to avoid bolt relaxation, JB/ZQ 4342 double-sided kryptoid dish washer is configured in the position of the contact surface between the bolt and the middle flange, which effectively prevents bolt relaxation and ensures reliable sealing of the middle flange gasket.
  • Valve stem double seal manual function
    valve stem seal packing box is equipped with PTFE packing, packing press sleeve outer circle and inner hole each processing two grooving, groove is equipped with O-ring, so that it and packing box hole and valve stem outer circle phase seal, so as to achieve PTFE + rubber O-ring double packing sealing effect, to ensure that the packing part does not leak.
  • Live load packing manual function
    due to frequent valve opening and closing, the packing in the valve opening and closing process inevitably produce wear, affecting the sealing performance of the packing, in order to avoid this situation, the packing press sleeve is equipped with a spiral cylinder spring. Through the gland nut to compress the spring, so that the spring storage elastic energy, when the packing volume loss, such as friction, compaction and other losses, as well as the packing relaxation, vibration, different thermal expansion caused by the packing and the valve stem contact force drop, elastic energy can make up for the relaxation of the packing stress, so that the packing during the valve operation to protect the seal, thereby extending the service life of the packing.
  • Fusible plug Manual function
    cylinder is provided with fusible plug (Figure 2), when the ambient temperature reaches the set temperature of fusible plug fusible plug melt, release the gas in the cylinder. Under the action of spring force, the cylinder piston drives the valve stem and valve disc to close the valve and realize the emergency cutting function. Fusible plug is a hot start pressure relief device, which can prevent overpressure caused by excessive heat. Fusible plugs consist of a plug body and fusible alloy (Wood's alloy, Table 1). In order to prevent the fusible alloy from being extruded under air pressure, the holes in the plug body are designed as a series of stepped holes with progressively decreasing pore size starting from the pressure end. Fusible alloys are composed of four metals: bismuth, lead, tin and cadmium. When composed by different mass percentages, different melting temperatures can be achieved (Table 1). The purity of the four metals composed of fusible alloys is higher, of which the purity of bismuth is not less than 99.95%, the impurity content of bismuth should meet the provisions of Table 2, the purity of lead is not less than 99.94%, the purity of tin is not less than 99.90%, and the purity of cadmium is not less than 99.95%.
  • The manual function
    cylinder is provided with a manual operation mechanism, and the valve can be opened and closed manually in the absence of an air source.
