1. Overview:
Z40H American gate valve is suitable for ANSI Class150 ~ 2500, PN20 ~ 42, JIS10 ~ 20K, working temperature -29 ~ 425ºC (carbon steel) and -40 ~ 500ºC (stainless steel) of the name of the pipeline, used to cut off or connect the medium in the pipeline. Through the selection of different materials, it can be applied to water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, strong oxidizing medium and urea and other media.

Third, the working principle:
It is by rotating the valve to make the valve unblocked or blocked. A, the opening process
1. In the closed position, the valve body is pressed against the seat by the [wiki] mechanical [/wiki] pressure of the stem.
2. When the handwheel is turned counterclockwise, the stem moves in reverse, and its bottom angular plane causes the ball to release from the seat.
3. The valve stem continues to lift and interact with the guide pin in the spiral groove of the valve stem so that the ball begins to rotate without friction.
4. Until it reaches the full open position, the valve stem is lifted to the limit position, and the ball is rotated to the full open position.
B. Closing process
1. When closing, turn the handwheel clockwise, the stem begins to drop and the ball starts to rotate away from the seat.
2. Continue to rotate the handwheel, the valve stem is subjected to the action of the guide pin embedded in its upper spiral groove, so that the valve stem and the ram rotate 90° at the same time.
3. The brake body has rotated 90° without contact with the seat when it is about to close.
4. In the last few turns of the handwheel rotation, the angular plane at the bottom of the valve stem is mechanically wedged towards the compression ball, so that it is tightly pressed against the seat to achieve seal.
Four, structural features:
a. Frictionless opening and closing.

f. Self-cleaning structure of sealing surface.
When the ball tilts away from the seat, the fluid in the pipeline passes 360° evenly along the ball sealing surface, which not only eliminates the local erosion of the high-speed fluid on the seat, but also washes away the accumulation on the sealing surface to achieve the purpose of self-cleaning.
g. Classification.
Gate valves according to different classification methods can be divided into: parallel gate valves, wedge gate valves, lifting gate valves, rotating rod gate valves, fast opening and closing gate valves, shrinkable gate valves, flat gate valves, etc.
h. Features.

i. Construction, installation points.
1) The installation position, height, import and export direction must meet the design requirements, the connection should be firm and tight.
2). The handle of all kinds of manual valves installed on the thermal insulation pipeline shall not be downward.
3) The valve must be inspected before installation, and the nameplate of the valve should comply with the provisions of the current national standard "General Valve Mark" GB 12220. For the working pressure is greater than 1.0MPa and the valve that plays a cutting role on the main pipe, the strength and strict performance test should be carried out before installation, and the qualified can be used. During the strength test, the test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure, the duration is not less than 5min, and the valve shell and packing should be qualified without leakage. In the tightness test, the test pressure is 1.1 times the nominal pressure; The test pressure should meet the requirements of GB 50243 standard for the duration of the test, and the valve flap sealing surface is qualified without leakage.
