UFS steam separator Product classification:
Although there are various designs of separators, they are all designed to remove water suspended in steam that cannot be drained through the trap. Separators commonly used in steam systems come in three forms. 1. Baffle type - baffle or baffle plate separator is composed of a lot of baffle, fluid in the separator to change the direction of flow many times, because suspended water droplets have a large mass and inertia, when the baffle flow direction changes, dry steam can bypass the baffle to continue forward, and water droplets will accumulate on the baffle, water separator has a large flow area, reduce the kinetic energy of water droplets, Most of them will condense, fall to the bottom of the separator, and discharge through the trap.
2. Steam Spin - Steam or centrifugal separators use a series of fins to create a high speed cyclone, which rotates the flow of steam at high speed within the separator.
3. Adsorption type - The steam channel inside the adsorption type separator has a hindrance, usually a metal mesh pad, suspended water droplets encounter it and are absorbed, and the water droplets are large enough to fall to the bottom of the separator due to the action of gravity. The combination of steam spin and adsorption two forms of separator is also very common, due to the combination of these two methods the overall separation efficiency will be improved. The main difference between the baffle, steam spin and adsorption separator is that the baffle separator can maintain a high separation efficiency in a large flow rate range, while the separation efficiency of the steam spin and adsorption separator can only achieve high efficiency in the steam speed below 13m/s, otherwise the efficiency will be very low, when the steam speed is 25m/s, the separation efficiency is only about 50%.
Research shows that the baffle separator in the flow rate of 10m/s to 30m/s between the separation efficiency is very high, so if there is a large speed fluctuation, the baffle separator is more suitable for the steam system, and if the pipeline is small, the speed of wet steam can exceed 30m/s. One of the ways to solve this problem is to increase the diameter of the steam separator and the diameter of the upstream pipeline of the separator, so as to reduce the steam flow rate into the steam separator.

UFS water separator installation precautions:
1. Before installation, purge the pipeline with pressure gas to remove dirt and debris.
2. The separator should be installed in the lower position of the steam pipe line, and it is recommended to install a stop valve before and after the separator.
3. Installation direction: the arrow on the valve body points in the same direction as the fluid in the pipeline (the arrow on the valve body points to the fluid outlet port)
4. The steam separator should be installed at the lower part of the trap, the trap should be selected according to the displacement and working conditions.
5. In order to prevent the failure of the steam separator and the trap at the lower part due to the blockage of dirt, it is recommended to install a filter before the trap, and clean it regularly to ensure the efficient operation of the equipment.
